Journey United Methodist Church is a faith community proud to be growing in Lakeland, Tennessee. Since our inception a short time ago, we quickly noticed a pattern. When we introduce ourselves to people, the first question we usually hear is, "Where is your church?" You should see the funny looks when we respond, "You're looking at it!" It didn't take us long to adopt the slogan, "The Church Has Left the Building."
You see, at Journey we believe that the PEOPLE are the church - not the four walls that surround us. Yes, eventually we will have a place to call home in the heart of beautiful Lakeland, but do not be surprised to often see a sign on the door that says:
"The Church Has Left the Building - Gone to Serve."
That's what Journey is all about - loving God with all of our hearts, souls and minds and loving our neighbors through serving each other, our community, and the world around us. We invite you to experience that J.O.Y. (Journey Outside Yourself) with us, but be careful - It is so wonderfully life-changing that you might not want to stop! Right now, we are a small group with big hearts, but we know our passion for people will be contagious. We realize that each person is a unique child of God and so we aim to create unique Christian experiences. If you would like to travel with us on this new journey, we welcome you.
